Fear is Not an Option | Directionally Challenged
Confession, I’ve been binging this podcast! Candice and Kayla are honest and tackle feelings that we experience everyday, but what I love about it is these conversations get me thinking about the way I’m living my life. While the podcast talks about “30-something women asking life’s questions” they really hit on topics that get to the core of humans that extends across generations.
There are a few episodes that I really love (ask me about them later & I would love to chat about it more!), but I wanted to highlight this one on Fear with Monica Berg. Here are the golden nuggets that I took away:
It talks about how you can look at change as an opportunity, not a disappointment (to all of the control-freaks like me.)
There’s no quick fix to stress or fear if you’ve been ignoring yourself. Monica challenges you to be kind to yourself and build a foundation that can be unshakeable.
Create a “To Be” list instead of a “To Do” list based upon your to “To Be” list. So if you want “to be” kind, do one kind thing a day & make that the priority. Do the exact to do because day by day will get you one step closer to that goal rather than just completing tasks.
“All fear does is feed an already chaotic situation.” It keeps us busy with nonsense. Fear is just a complete distraction as to what calls you to be purposeful.
Don’t identify your purpose as what you do, but who you are. It’s easy to get stuck in your headspace, but embrace who you were created to be.
Three important questions were asked that I challenge you to answer yourself:
What would you do if fear was not in the driver’s seat?
What fears are holding you back?
What do you fear about the future?
