Not Your Average Handbook
As I was scrolling through Facebook one day, I saw a sponsored post for “Most Creative Employee Handbooks” (clearly that tells you something about my personality...) BUT I never realized that something so typically boring could actually be a piece that could inspire others.
This article made me think outside the box about how I can make my “boring” tasks more creative and reminded that educating others is a chance to articulate your values and passions to others.
Here are my 4 Stand-Outs from the article:
22 Squared: This advertising agency created a book for new hires to read their first 22 days on the job. It was less of a rulebook and more of a way to empathize and make new hires comfortable in a new environment. I actually found myself reading that one excited to see what they would say next.
Facebook: Of course Facebook has a great employee handbook – This packet helps new hires catch their vision, philosophy and inspires them to think about communication differently. Definitely had me writing some wisdom on sticky notes to keep me going throughout the day.
Austin Fraiser: This IT & Technology recruitment company was very straightforward, but still beautifully created. Keeps everything simple, but communicates expectations clearly.
EF Digital Designs: Did you know an employee handbook could be written like a children’s book? Check this one out.
